Veterans Day Ceremonies Monday on Monument Avenue

The gathering is set for the traditional time and place: Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. on Monument Avenue.

Rev. Dean Pedersen will lead Swampscott's Veterans Day ceremonies Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. across from Town Hall on Monument Avenue.

The reverend will address the crowd, a bagpiper will play, a deejay will play recorded music and a color guard will be present as will many local veterans, who will receive recognition for their service.

In addition, an individual will receive special recognition this year, said Jim Schultz, the town's veterans agent.

The ceremonies typically last about 20 minutes.
