Tornado Warning Issued for Parts of Northeastern Massachusetts

Sections of northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire have a storm headed their way capable of producing a tornado.

A tornado warning has been issued for portions of northeastern Massachusetts on Monday afternoon because forecasters say a storm moving across the area is capable of producing a tornado.

The storm in question is near Leominster and moving northeast. The warning runs until 3:15 p.m.

The exact warning area is slightly to the west of Beverly and includes Western Essex County, Northern Middlesex County, Northeastern Worcester County and Southeastern Hillsborough County.

Forecasters say that anyone in the path of the storm should go to a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and stay away from windows.

For anyone who is in a vehicle or outdoors, you should get to the closest shelter.
