Swampscott Teen Relishes Different Roles

Anna Hunt loves being a teen in town, playing sports, acting and spending quality time with her friends.

Swampscott’s Anna Hunt occasionally acts on stage but the role she enjoys the most is that of happy teenager.

Hunt spends many winter afternoons skiing cross-country trails with her older sister Emma and her mom and dad.

The 13-year-old middle school seventh grader loves school, playing soccer and shopping with her friends during her down time.

Hunt is also a member of the Middle School Theater Club, playing Gertrude in the recent production of , and Millie in last year’s Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Anna suits up for the Blue Lightning soccer team, last fall under Coach Eve Gambale and this spring she’s taking direction on the field from her dad, Stephen.

The Hunts moved to Swampscott from Newton when Anna’s older sister Emma was three months old, settling on Grant Road near.

“I have a great time playing soccer, and I enjoy skiing with my family too,” Hunt said.

When she’s at school Hunt’s favorite classes are English and Science, but it’s hard to pick one course that’s better than the others she said.

“I love English, I love to write, and I enjoy the challenges in Science class,” she said from her kitchen last week.

Hunt said the best thing about being a kid in Swampscott is being able to spend time with her friends and being super close to the beach.

“Swampscott’s great, it’s a small town, you know lots of people and there are plenty of things to do,” Hunt said. “I really like it here.”

“I first got exposed to performing in the church choir with my sister when I was younger, and I loved it,” Hunt said. Fourteen-year-old Emma Hunt is also a student at the .

Anna, Emma, Stephen and Kim Hunt are members of St. Michaels Church in Marblehead, and have lived in Swampscott since 1997, when they moved here from Newton.
