Swampscott Sister Seeks Help For Brother's Family

Donations buy food and other essentials, including housing, for Scott's three children.

For our look at a local GoFundMe campaign this week we  are highlighting a fund set up by Deborah Livingston of Swampscott — the SACA Cancer Fundraiser.

The SACA fund accepts "tax deductible" donations to help her 39-year-old brother Scott care for his three children.

Deborah explains on the GoFundMe page that: "Scott has an aggressive blood lymphoma called Burkitts with tumors in lung, stomach and spine. We have been told that the cancer cells are also present in his spinal fluid and brain and now affecting his eyes. He is deemed disabled and unable to work. The medical bills are through the roof and Social Security and Medicare are both dragging their feet for approval, if he gets approved at all. Scott takes pride in being able to take care of himself and his 3 children and now is at the mercy of other. I have set up this " tax deductible" fund for the sole purpose of using the money for his 3 children, a roof over everyone's head, food and medical bills for his survival and treatment."
