People doing business in Vinnin Sqaure and along Humphrey Street took a few moments Friday and Saturday to share their New Year's Resolutions for 2012.

After a busy Christmas and Hanukkah season, people at work, on school vacation, driving around town, took a few moments to share their New Year’s resolutions.

“I try to make some resolutions, some I can attain, nothing too outrageous,” Nancy Weinstein said. “Lose a little weight, get more exercise, be nice to others, things like that.”

“I want to exercise more on my own, and I want to exercise with my daughter in 2012, too,” Antonia Steriti said. “I definitely want to eat better, eat healthier.”

Linda Hayes Power said she wants exercise more and get her brain back in shape, too, in 2012.

"Challenge myself with brain games — hopefully to improve my memory!," she said. "I'm also looking to be more mindful ... practice living in the moment and enjoying my life and kids more! Lastly, to cultivate a sense of gratitude — stop worrying about what I don't have and appreciate the wonderful things I do have."

Books were on Jeff Smith's mind.

“There are so many books I want to read in 2012,” he said. “In order to read more, I’ve got to watch less TV, so I’ll just watch the Bruins and the Patriots and read as much as I can.”

“Walk the beach, that’s what I want to do,” Marlene Spring said. “We have one of the most beautiful, most easily accessible ways to walk along the water, next to King’s Beach, I’m determined to get out there as much as I can next year.”

Have a happy and safe 2012!
