Linscott Park Gazebo Courtesy of Local Benefactors

One man's vision became a reality

After seeing the Patch article about the Linscott Park gazebo shot being chosen as its new Facebook cover, local attorney Martin Goldman reached out to provide more details. Turns out he was the mastermind behind the gazebo being designed and constructed.

Martin had the inspired idea that the spot near the entrance to Swampscott would be perfect for a gazebo and so began visiting existing structures around New England. Once his vision came into focus, Martin began recruiting area architects and contractors to assist in the design and construction; everyone one of them donating their time, resources and materials!

In June of 2004 the gazebo was completed and a plaque erected recognizing the generosity of the benefactors: Martin Goldman, Bruce Paradise, Nick Meninno, Matt Leahy, Aggregate Industries, John Barnes, Tony Paradise, Peter Olson, Gerry Raffaele and Robert Paserky.
