UPDATED: Frozen Fishies (Photo) and King's (Video)

Let us know in the comments section.

Fisherman's Beach was sporting a frozen look Wednesday morning.

One of our readers, Betty Holmes, said she heard the beach water was frozen to the end of the pier.

Here we have a photo from George Allen, showing the beach water frozen at 10:45 a.m.

Betty tells us she has a photo from 1961 that shows a "Frozen Fishies," Fishies being the name some Swampscott people use for the beach.

Milton Fistel, who has lived across from the beach more than 30 years, said he saw its waters frozen last some 15-20 years ago.

He has also seen Artic smoke this year, a phenomena that arises when extremely cold air temperatures mett the warmer ocean water temps.

The water temp at Fisherman's is in the high 30s.

When was the last time you saw the water frozen at the beach? Let readers know by putting the info in the comments section.

It's got to get mighty cold for tidewater to freeze.
