Monday Essentials: Permits on the Table for Paradise Road Apartment Complex

On Mondays look for essential information about the upcoming week at a glance, including meetings, school news and entertainment.

1. Weather Watch: The hot weather has broken and pleasant summer is back. At least for Monday, though the weather looks unsettled in the the days to come.

Monday promises sun and a high temperature of 76. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.

2. Tobacco Regulations on the Table: The Board of Health will take up tobacco regs. when they meet on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. at Town Hall. The members will meet with Joyce Redford of the North Shore Tobacco Coalition.

3. ZBA Takes Up Apartment Complex Wednesday: When the Zoning Board of Appeal meets on Wednesday special use permits will be under discussion for a 184-unit apartment complex at the former Jewish Rehabilitation Center.

4. Swampscott Attorney Appointed to Court: Governor Deval Patrick announced last week that Cesar A. Archilla was appointed as associate justice of the District Court, Circuit.

Cesar A. Archilla has served as a member of the Massachusetts Parole Board since 2010. Prior to this appointment, he worked for four years as a criminal defense attorney in Salem and for over six years as an Assistant District Attorney in Essex County. Archilla also worked for 13 years prior to becoming an attorney at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He is a graduate of Atlantic Union College (B.S., 1986) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D., 1998). Archilla resides in Swampscott. 

5. Fantastic Indeed: Starting Friday, Marblehead Little Theatre will present what sounds to be an enchanting drama that they first brought to the stage more than 50 years ago — The Fantasticks.
