Swampscott Egg Trample

My first experience at the Swampscott Egg Hunt.  I thought I would take video of my child having fun, but instead caught adults scrambling and pushing kids aside to pick up eggs in the hunt supposedly for children under 6.  I had to put my camera down to make sure my child didn't get trampled!! Look at the two adults scooping up eggs in front of the kids!!! Come on now, people!

I was on the other side with my grandson (2-5 grade) which was pretty orderly - I have a video showing less trample and just kids - but don't know how to upload it to this reply. Lots fewer kids than the younger children. My suggestion. Leave the big grassy area for the little kids, break down ages further into 3 separated areas (2-3; 4-5; 6-7) and then the older kids (grades 2-5) could be located on a different lawn. More space, less frantic grabbing of eggs - no parents allowed to participate beyond the 2-3 year olds. We appreciated the town's generosity and the funny pink Easter Bunny!

Only in Swampscott can a Easter Egg hunt get screwed up! I am surprised Fox 25 news wasn't there. This is the next generation of Swampscott's best? God help us....

Agreed Louis, don't know what Fox News has to do with it but I totally agree with your post.

Why are parents even allowed to take part? Shouldn't they stand to the side and watch their kids go after the eggs? Kind of sad that some parents are taking the fun away from kids.
