2014 Cub Scout Pinewood Derby

January 11 was a fun filled day for Swampscott’s Cub Scout Pack 55 as the forty plus boys participated in the 2014 Pinewood Derby held at First Church on Monument Avenue. Each of the Cub Scouts, who are students in local schools (from 1st thru 5th grade), were given a solid block of wood and by using the appropriate tools they turned them in to lean, mean racing machines. The boys did a tremendous job of crafting and decorating their entries and the cars really took on the personalities of the individual Cub Scouts. After an exciting day of racing the fastest cars were announced. Vincenzo Fazzolari won the Tiger Den Division, Alex Macey won the Wolf Den Division, Elias Zaklin won the Bear Den Division and Kique Ruiz won the Webelo Den Division. The overall Pack 55 Champion was Alex Macey.
