"Off The Shelf'

Summertime is a great time to travel both in this country and abroad. The Swampscott Library has purchased quite a few new travel books that are constantly being checked out by our hometown travellers. If you plan on taking a trip out west then check out our latest travel books on National Parks of the West or one on touring Colorado or Utah. If you are planning a major trip out of the country we have new books on the Greek Islands, Spain, Moscow and St. Petersburg, Morocco, Australia or the Bahamas to name a few.  Nothing is more helpful when you are travelling than to have checked out your destination in books.  Many of the travel books give you insight into the country, hints on how to do something or what to wear and many can give you ideas for  restaurants or hotels.If you are planning on travelling to a foreign country then check out our language section. We have many new cd's on learning languages.  Sometimes just knowing a few catch phrases can help you get to where you want to be.  We also have a database called Mango which residents of Swampscott can use in order to learn a language.  These are just a few things that are being checked out at the Swampscott Public Library.
