Off The Shelf

Programming at the library

“Off The Shelf”

Books are flying off of the shelf at the Swampscott Public Library this summer. Per  usual, we have a high demand for summer reading books, casual reading and travel books.  It seems that everyone in town has a need for something here at the library and that is great.  We have a super program on Mondays called “Messy Mondays” and yes it is very messy but great fun. Children from 2 years old and up can come to the library for fingerpainting, paperbag puppets, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, shaving cream painting, play dough and the highlight of the summer “worms in dirt”.  While the children are here enjoying the crafts and hearing stories read by the librarian, parents select many great books to bring home to read to their children.  Many parents and care givers bring children in to the library to attend these programs and all leave wearing a smile on their face and a messy tee shirt on their body. .  Yes books are what are going off the shelf at the Swampscott Public Library this summer.
