School Committee to Decide Whether to Extend Public Comment

Noteworthy items in Swampscott, Sept. 25.

1. School Committee Notes:

School Committee members will consider whether they want to open some agenda items at their meetings to comments from the public. Interim Superintendent Garry Murphy introduced the idea during his report to the panel on Tuesday. As it is now, the public has the opportunity to comment during the public comment period at the start of meetings. But some residents think more people would come to the meetings if they had a chance to participate in discussions as they arise in the course of the meeting.
