Police Target Oct. 26 for Open House

Noteworthies from today in Swampscott.

1. Police Notes:

The Swampscott Police Department invites the public to an open house at the new station, 531 Humphrey St., on Saturday, Oct 26 from noon to 2 p.m., said Police Chief Ron Madigan. The event will include station tours, demonstrations and activities for the kids.

2. Weather Watch: 

Wednesday's forecast calls for a sunny day with a high temperature of 59 degrees.

  • Low tide: 8:42 a.m.
  • High tide: 2:54 p.m.
  • Sunset: 6:10 p.m.

3. Sea Notes: 

Kayaks and Prams must be off the beach by Oct. 31.

5. Classic Car Notes:

In the wake of Sunday's rain induced postponement of the town's classic car show, it has been rescheduled for Oct. 20. The 3rd Annual Classic By The Sea Car Show sponsored by the Swampscott Recreation Department will take place, Sunday, Oct. 20, from 10AM to 2PM on Monument Avenue. About 150 cars are expected from early 20th century models to the big-fendered 50s and the muscle 60s with elegant models from throughout the years of automobile manufacturing.
