New Security Sticker on High School Entrance

Security improvements in Swampscott schools among the five noteworthies in town today.

 

1. School Security:

A new Stop and Sign-in sticker was posted at the entrance of the high school about two weeks ago, said Swampscptt School Resource Officer Rose Cheever.
The sign reminds visitors and family members that they must sign in and sign out at the school.

The schools are also using a new visitor lanyard badge system to identify people as visitors.

2. Weather Watch: 

Thursday's forecast calls for sunshine and a high temperature of 71. 

  • Sunrise: 6:27 a.m.
  • High tide: 11:35 a.m.
  • Low tide: 5:41 p.m.
  • Sunset: 6:45 p.m.

3. School Notes:

The School Committee meets Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in Room B208 at Swampscott High School.

5. Veterans Notes: 

Sunday, Sept. 22, starting at 1 p.m. there will be a North Shore Appreciation Parade starting at Federal Street in Lynn, Mass to Western Avenue North to Chestnut Street east to Goodrich Street and ending at Lynn English High School.

At Lynn English High School there will be food, live music, a Civil War encampment, kiosks from each of the armed services, a static display of military vehicles, parachute jump and much more.
