Castleberry Fair is Coming to Town

Five noteworthy items about Swampscott today.

1. Academic Notes: 

A local student was among the 542 graduates awarded diplomas at Denison University's 172nd commencement held Sunday, May 12.
Charles D. Baker of Swampscott was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel. Baker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history.

2. More Academic Notes: 

Dorsey McNeelas Dobias of Swampscott, son of Sharon and Robert J. Dobias, graduated cum laude with a BA in Economics with honors, at the University of the South’s 2013 commencement ceremonies held in All Saints’ Chapel on the Sewanee campus on May 12.

The University of the South is an independent liberal arts college, owned by 28 dioceses of the Episcopal Church, and located atop Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau between Nashville and Chattanooga. It has been consistently ranked among the top tier of national liberal arts colleges.

3. School Notes:

Schools remain open Wednesday before closing Thursday and Friday for Rosh Hashanah.

The Castleberry Arts and Crafts Fair is back for it's 3rd year at Linscott Park across from Town Hall in Swampscott on Saturday September 7 from 10-5 and Sunday September 8th from 10-4. Admission is free. Rain or Shine.
