1. Summer Notes:
Amy Vernava took this pic of her son and his friends on their last beach day at Phillips Beach last week.
Amy said the children, who just entered Grade 5 at Swampscott Middle School, the spent almost every afternoon on Phillips over the summer. On their last day the waves were huge and the kids were boogie boarding.
They buried each other and made drip castles — and enjoyed that one last treat from the ice cream truck.
"It was a perfect way to end a glorious summer with friends," said Amy.
