1. Bird Notes:
Walkers are luxuriating in these fine sunny August days. One walker, Cindy, was out with her bird, Pasha, Wednesday along Fisherman's Beach. Pasha is 15 and enjoys pasta and other human food. And walks by the beach.
 
2. Weather Watch: 

Wednesday's forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. and a high temperature of 80.

3. Academic Notes:
Rachel Buckley and Courtney LeBlanc have been named to Plymouth State University's President's List. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the spring 2013 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. These credit hours must be in courses that earn grade points and the student must have completed all such courses attempted.

5. Town Notes:
Selectmen responded to the wishes of four business owners at the Gateway Building who asked board members Wednesday to approve parking spaces along Monument Avenue at the side of Linscott Park. The proposal had the support of the Traffic Study Committee.  The five spaces are open to 30-minute parking.
