Open to individuals 8 years and up, the Drumagic Drum Circle plays African based rhythms along with free-formed ones, that blend together in a moving, spiritual way. It is a way to express yourself. You will leave the afternoon feeling inspired and relaxed.
Never drummed before? No Problem. We will show you the way. Come out and plan to have an afternoon of spiritual awakening, fun and meeting wonderful people. Drums are available for borrowing. Oh, and if you like to dance, drum rhythms are great to move to as well.
Cost: Volunteer donation of $5 to $10 suggested.

The annual Swampscott Garen Art Walk celebrates the rich diversity of artists, gardens, businesses, and neighbors across our magnificent seaside town - a beautiful blend of self-guided garden walks, open studios, and exciting enrichment activities. 
The 11:00 kick-off is behind Swampscott High School hosted by the Senior Center and the Swampscott High Point Program.&nbsp;From there, stroll to dozens of gardens and open studios across the three neighborhoods of our town. Just steps away from the kick-off (Yellow Primrose Neighborhood) is <a href="https://www.reacharts.org/Sys/PublicProfile/68476131" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Claire</a> <a href="https://www.reacharts.org/Sys/PublicProfile/68476131" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Donnelly's </a>Open Studios on Eastman Avenue where she features works from several artists and is holding a collaborative community art activity. On Reid Terrace (Lilac Neighborhood) Fran Levy-Freiman hosts artists in her lush gardens and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/hannahcloudsharpless/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hannah Cloud Sharpless</a> creates artwork using natural inks and botanical dyes. On Puritan Lane (Beach Roses Neighborhood), Ruth Rooks showcases her magnificent gardens along with works of the <a href="https://www.swampscottarts.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Swampscott Arts Association</a>. Not far away on Orchard Circle, <a href="https://itemlive.com/2023/06/18/local-artist-carves-pieces-of-swampscott/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nathan Fontes-Fried </a>opens his studio and features woodworking.
 
Sprinkled along the way, many groups are holding enrichment activities. <a href="https://www.surediversity.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">SURE</a> Diversity will be holding a “Tell Us Your Story” activity which invites residents to share short stories about their ancestors and The <a href="https://swampscottconservancy.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Swampscott Conservancy</a> will have information on Pollinator Gardens, just to name a few.
 
<a href="https://www.lebartist.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Lisa Boemer</a> and fellow artists will demonstrate plein air painting throughout gardens in the Monument area and <a href="https://www.facebook.com/S.M.Pottery.Northshore/?locale=ku_TR" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Stephanie Moriarty</a> will explain pottery making in her open studio.
 
This collaborative event has activities by the Swampscott Police Department, Swampscott Fire Department, Swampscott Historical Society, Swampscott Council on Aging, the VFW Post, and Seaside Collaborative Gardens. 
Various faith organizations are generously offering parking for this event. Thank you to St. John the Evangelist, First Church, Shirat Hayam, and Unitarian Universalist Church. 
The historic Swampscott railroad station is .5 miles from the kick-off location on Essex Street. It serves the MBTA Commuter Rail Newburyport/Rockport Line. 
Additionally, take the Wonderland Station Blue Line to MBTA Bus 442 or 441. 
The Town of Swampscott and the Swampscott Council on Aging are very generously offering two handicapped shuttle vans to loop around town. Due to the large crowd expected, seating on the shuttle may be limited. We suggest biking, hiking, or strolling to experience nature and our neighbors to the fullest!
