Hear local author Maria Mello read from Bird Calls tomorrow at the Swampscott Senior Center

Teacher, musician, artist, naturalist and poet Maria Mello will read from her new collection, Bird Calls, at the Senior Center on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 3:00- 4:30.

Rooted in the natural world, Bird Calls is arranged in sections named for different species of birds with corresponding themes of longing, discovery, loss, communion, and wisdom.

Mello brings the force of a life fully lived to her highly readable and memorable poems. Her work has been published in various small presses, and is often read aloud to enthusiastic audiences.

All are welcome, and refreshments will be served. Signed copies of the books will be available for purchase.

Bird Calls is published by Four Square Press. For more information, contact info@foursquarepress.com or visit Maria's author page at www.foursquarepress.com.

Maria's voice is so Mello! It was so great to see the Swampscott Senior Center packed with people eager to hear local poet Maria Mello read from her new book, Bird Calls, on a blustery, ominous day! Center staff created a lovely tea to celebrate the author.
Bird Calls, published by Four Square Press, is available at the Spirit 2 bookstore in Vinnin Sq., online at Amazon, and from the publisher at www.foursquarepress.com.
