Tell Us: Would You Keep A Bag of Money?

A woman found a bag with $11,000 in it and turned it in to police. What would you do?

By now maybe you've heard of the Beverly woman who found a bag hanging from a Marshalls rack in Swampscott, unzipped it and discovered $11,000.

Cheryl Gavazzi of Beverly brought the money and bag to police. The owner was located and the lost money returned to him — money raised to build a church in Guatemala.

So let's say you found the bag and the $11,000.

What would you do?

Tough question ,Terry. What would you do? :-)
Why don't you run a story about the guy who raises money to build a church in Guatemala?

Hi Mark, If I happened to be looking in a diaper bag at Marshalls and saw $11,000 I would have told the store manager about the find.
And, yes, I am curious about the church, too, but the fellow has remained nameless.

Absolutely, I would take the money to the police station.

There is no doubt in my mind, I would return the money to its owner. The thoughts that would go through my mind would be what if this money was all the family has for rent, food, or what ever. No doubt I would have done the right thing.

You don't really expect a commenter to post if they would keep theoney, do you?

Hell yes I'd keep the cash. But only if there were no ID attached to it. Anyone could claim it then. Might as well be me.

It does not belong to me. I don't take anything that is not given to me,
I would have brought it to the SwampScott Pd. but all in all the money was
returned to the proper owner, and the woman who found it has a clear Conscience that she did the right thing.
