Among those who will benefit from the improved communications capabilities is Swampscott resident Nicholas Padovani, Boston Azzurri's director of coaching.

His daughter Marina plays for the club team, as well, as do many other young North Shore soccer players.

Korrio (korrio.com) developed the Playflow® platform.

Azzurri is not your typical club organization. It has grown through the vision of President Jennifer McLellan to become a premier development organization for soccer players of varying skill levels and abilities. Jen, as she’s known to the players, has committed the entire organization to focusing on individual player needs.

She is pioneering a change in club soccer focus – from “game day” success to a “complete team focus” on strong, technical player development. The focus on individual skill development has attracted club players from other organizations, as well as players new to club soccer.

Player Focus Matches Passion

Its player-centric perspective drove Boston Azzurri to seek out more in its sports automation platform. “We were spending too much time on simple tasks like registering our players and creating communication vehicles for the parents and players,” President Jennifer McLellan said. “Korrio’s focus on the player matched our passion for ‘player first.’”

Playflow integrates web, mobile and social networking to provide coaches, administrators, parents and players with a comprehensive and easy-to-use online home. Each user has a customized view into their team and club and receives real-time updates on important schedule, location and event details. The platform also streamlines and automates essential administrative tasks, such as registration, payment processing, roster creation, game/practice scheduling and web hosting.

“I was impressed with how fast we got up and running. The Korrio platform is easy to use and simplifies so many things for our club,” McLellan said. “The goal was to get everything in one place, eliminating administrative pressures and wasted time. We find the web hosting solution to be the biggest relief, as it is fast and simple to add and update content. We also love how integrated the platform is - our coaches and players have the most up-to-date information available. And Korrio’s support team guided us through the transition to this new sports automation platform, making it easy.”

Setting the Tone for Future Growth

“Boston Azzurri is a young club that has grown quickly in the Northshore of Boston. We compete with club teams in the Mass Premier League (MAPLE), the New England Premier League (NEPL) and Massachusetts Soccer Conference (MASC), and run skill development programs throughout the winter, including Futsal and 7v7 indoor soccer,” McLellan said. “Part of providing our special top-notch player development is using tools that are top notch. Korrio is another step in providing exceptional value to our Boston Azzurri families.”

Korrio CEO and Founder Steve Goldman said he is thrilled to partner with such forward-thinking clubs, helping them take their organization and online presence to the next level. “The FC Boston Azzurri Club is progressive, not only in its player development, but in how it runs its business,” Goldman said. “Playflow is designed to make club operations simple, so the club can extend these benefits to its customers – the families and players.”
