Swampscott Man Beaten and Robbed
This is the second time in two months that three assailants have attacked a victim.
A 32-year-old Swampscott man walking under the railroad bridge on Burrill Street 12:30 a.m. Friday was beaten and robbed.
Three unknown assailants jumped the lone walker from behind, knocked him down and took his wallet, said Swampscott police Det. Tim Cassidy.
They then continued to assault the man while he was on the ground before fleeing, police said.
He ended up with a cut lip, a cut on the back of the head and a cut elbow but was not hospitalized, police said.
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to please contact the Swampscott Police Detectives unit at 781-595-1111
This is the second incident of this kind in two months.
On Dec. 5, a man walking home from work was jumped, beaten and robbed by three unknown suspects.
That incident took place at 2:18 a.m.; the location, 95 Paradise Road.
The suspects were wearing black clothing and hiding their faces under ski masks. They robbed the victim of his iPhone 4 and a gold chain, but first they threw him to the ground, demanding money, police said at the time.
"The suspects struck the victim in the head and in the ribs with an object believed to be a bat."
The victim was taken to the hospital with bruises to his head, forearm and wrist, police said. He was treated and released.
