After a mostly snowless winter, Swampscott may see up to 6 inches of the white stuff over the next 24 hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from noon today until 6 p.m. Thursday and are predicting somewhere between 3 and 6 inches of snow with a light coating of ice between this afternoon and Thursday morning.
Snow is expected to start between 1 and 3 p.m. and become heavy at times by late afternoon. Snow will continue into Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Poor visibility and slippery roads are expected for the Wednesday night and Thursday morning commutes - so try to plan ahead if you think you'll be out and about.
