The Coast Guard recovered a body in the ocean five miles east of Marblehead on Monday.

They are transporting the body to Gloucester where the state police will receive the body, a Coast Guard spokesman said.

The Coast Guard received a report from a boater about the body at 3:57 p.m., a spokesman said.

Swampscott police are investigating the report, as well, said Sgt. Tim Cassidy.
