Here are arrests and highlights of calls from Swampscott police logs this week:

Arrests:

  • Kerry Anne Brown, 21, of 55 Bellevue Road was arrested on behalf of another department on Saturday, June 25 at 1:35 p.m. at 200 Paradise Road. No information was available on the charge Brown faces.
  • Thomas Collins, 38, of 68 Whiting St. in Lynn was arrested on Sunday June 26, at 10:10 p.m. at Cherry Street for charges of assault and battery, disorderly conduct, threatening to commit a crime, as well as possession of a knife over 2 1/2-inches long.

Friday, June 24

10:19 a.m. A police officer reported that a dog ran into Humphrey Street and was grazed by a vehicle. The animal control officer was notified and the black Labrador retriever, wearing a red collar, was located at Ross Road.

10:35 a.m. A caller reported that a woman with blonde hair worn in a ponytail was going into backyards on Millett Lane. The woman was gone upon the officer's arrival.

5:42 p.m. Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident on Puritan Road. The Fire Department and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene and both vehicles were towed.

8:24 p.m. Firefighters and an ambuiance were dispatched to Burke Drive for a report of a man experiencing dizziness. 

 

Saturday, June 25

1:09 a.m. Salem police reported a pedestrian accident and Swampscott police took the driver of a Honda CRV into custody for the Salem Department.

11:51 a.m. An animal control officer will respond to a report of an injured bird.

2:47 p.m. A Paradise Road caller reported a past hit and run accident with property damage. An officer located the suspect and issued a criminal citation.

6:59 p.m. A Tupelo Road caller reported that youth were trying to enter a vacant home. Officers checked the interior of the home and no one was inside.

9:13 p.m. Police received a report from Fairview Avenue about loud music, and an officer had the resident turn it down.

Sunday, June 26

9:09 a.m. A person turned in a cane found at the Salem Home Depot. The cane had a Swampscott address on it. The person was notified and planned to come to the station and pick it up.

11:12 a.m. A caller reported a loose pit bull at the high school. The dog was found and had no identification tag. Police notified an animal control officer

1:30 p.m. An officer removed two raccoons from a trash can on Park Square.

5:26 p.m. A caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Humphrey Street. Police responded. No one was injured in the two-car accident. 

6:05 p.m. A Williams Terrace caller reported a barking dog. The owners agreed to bring the dog inside the house.

6:34 p.m. Police received a report of a kayak washing up on the beach on Humphrey Street. The Department of Public Works was notified.

Monday, June 27

1:26 a.m. Police investigated a report of youth behaving suspiciously on Greenwood Avenue.

8:37 a.m. A police detective called a party regarding harassing phone calls.

9:14 a.m. Police tagged three vehicles for parking violations on Blaney Street.

11:48 a.m. A caller reported a poisonous snake was on the ramp near King's Beach. The dead snake was placed in the trash.

5:07 p.m. Marblehead police asked to use Swampscott's Breathalyzer. Swampscott provided assistance.

7:45 p.m. Two callers reported loud music on Pine Street. Police responded and reported that the music was turned down.

Tuesday, June 28

12:09 a.m. Police responded to a report of two dogs barking loudly on Worcester Street. They were in the breezeway between the house and garage. No one answered the door at the house. The Board of Health will be notified of the complaint.

6:27 a.m. Police received a report of a sick or injured dog in the roadway on Bay View Drive.

11:20 a.m. Police investigate possible false prescriptions filed at Walgreens.

12:31 p.m.  A Banks Road resident reported finding a Yorkie dog. An animal control officer will pick up the dog.

8:26 p.m. A man and woman were reportedly arguing on Essex Street at Capen Road.

Wednesday, June 29

7:03 a.m. Police received reports of traffic lights malfunctioning on Paradise Road. The state highway department was notified.

1:22 p.m. Police received a report of a man yelling at people in a Paradise Road parking lot. The man had left when police arrived.

9:41 p.m. A caller reported a large group of young people in front of an Essex Street business.

10:24 p.m. Police received a report of young people playing basketball in the street and yelling on Redington Terrace. The officer reported that the game was over.

Thursday, June 30

1:40 a.m. A caller reported a driver operating a van erratically on Paradise Road. An officer checked the area but the van was not to be found.

7:13 a.m. Police executed a search warrant on River Point Drive.
