Letter: Community Garden Gets Helping Hand
High school teachers say thank you to the Swampscott Education Foundation for the grant it awarded the new community garden program.
We are writing to extend an enthusiastic thank you to the Swampscott Education Foundation for awarding an Impact Grant in the amount of $7,869.58 to begin phase one of community garden on the grounds of Swampscott High School.
Our goal is that this garden will provide all Swampscott students with opportunities to further their learning beyond the walls of the classroom and will support the integration of science, technology, engineering and math across all disciplines as part of the district STEM Initiative.
While this project is still in its early stages, we look forward to sharing our progress with both the SEF and the Swampscott community.
The Garden Project is accepting donations --- those that are financial, material, and/or industrial --- that will match SEF's contribution to get this project started.
Please check the Community Garden wish list on the Swampscott High School website to see how you may contribute to this project.
