Girls Basketball Falls to Marblehead in Second Overtime
The Big Blue girls are back in action tonight, Jan. 9, against the Beverly Panthers on their court.
It took two overtimes Monday but the Magicians of Marblehead outlasted Swampscott Big Blue girls varsity basketball team.
The final score: 39-35.
The game was the first of a boys and girls basketball double-header at Swampscott High.
In the second game, the Swampscott boys defeated their rivals from Marblehead, 54-47.
One night later, on Tuesday, the girls junior varsity basketball squad took down Marblehead's jeeves 39-21.
Both the Swampscott boys and girls varsity teams return to the hardwood Wednesday in games against the Beverly Panthers.
The girls play on the Panthers' court and the Big Blue boys play at home.
