Fireworks Barge Arrives In The Harbor

A tugboat pushed the fireworks barge into position Monday night in preparation for Tuesday's big show.

First comes the barge then comes the fireworks.

Before the show can go on, the barge must be anchored in place.

Tonight, July 2, George Allen's house camera captured the arrival of the fireworks barge being towed into the harbor by a tug.

The shells for tomorrow night's fireworks, July 3, about 9 pm, will fire from the offshore barge.

The night sky will explode in color at King's Beach — an annual celebration that Swampscott and Lynn undertake jointly.

The show will last for about 25 minutes, according to town officials.
