Once again, the Big Blue trailed early as North Reading scored just 50 seconds into the game.

Sophmore Josh Rothwell tied the game with a goal off a rebound at the 6:23 mark. Captain Sean Lannon gave Swampscott the lead assisted by Richie Sullivan with 1:14 left in the first quarter.

North Reading took control of the game in the second quarter as they outscored Swampscott 3-0 to take a 4-2 half-time lead. Despite the half-time deficit, Mark McMahon made 6 saves in net.

Richie Sullivan brought Swampscott back within a goal at the 9:58 mark of the 3rd quarter on a feed from Josh Rothwell.

Patrick Kennedy tied the game up assisted by Sean Lannon and Michael Hamel with 4:10 left.  But with time winding down, North Reading scored with just 2.2 seconds left in the quarter to retake the lead at 5-4.

Scott Powell took over in net for the Big Blue to start the 4th quarter but was unable to stop the North Reading onslaught. Two late goals made the final 7-4 in favor of North Reading.
