B&E Suspect Due in Court Today

Police expect to charge the victim, as well, for causing serious bodily injury to the suspect.

A man charged with attempting to break into a vehicle early Saturday morning is due in Lynn District Court today for arraignment.

Christian Johnson, 30, 162 Union St., Lynn also faces charges including disorderly conduct and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Swampscott police also expect to charge the owner of the vehicle that Johnson was allegedly breaking into.

The owner confronted Johnson on Cherry Street about 2 am, according to the owner’s wife, who reported the incident to police.

About the same time, another Cherry Street resident called police to report the two men were struggling, the Swampscott police log stated.

Police took Johnson into custody and saw that he had an injury from the struggle with the owner, the log stated.

Johnson received treatment from police, fire and ambulance crews and was transported to the emergency room at Salem Hospital for additional treatment.

He suffered a badly broken jaw.
