5 Things to Know: Marian Court to Host a Healing Abuse Tea

This year’s Healing Abuse Working for Change event will be taking place on April 28, 2013 from 1pm – 4pm at Marian Court College.

1) Town and School Meeting Watch:

The School Building Committee meets this morning at 8 in the conference room at the Middle School.

2) Newsbit of the Day:

Amanda Brawley, a Swampscott resident and Realtor with Jack Conway Realtor, is teaming up with Marian Court College to help raise funds for HAWC by hosting the 2nd Annual HAWC Afternoon of Tea Fundraiser.

HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change, formerly known as Help for Abused Women and their Children) is the oldest and the most comprehensive domestic violence agency on the Massachusetts' North Shore. HAWC provides services and support to victims of domestic violence residing in 23 cities and towns on Massachusetts' North Shore, including Swampscott.

This year’s event will be taking place on April 28, 2013 from 1pm – 4pm at Marian Court College.  By making a $50 donation to HAWC, you will enjoy tea, sandwiches, dessert and a healing or reading session in the company of others who want to make a difference in our community by ending domestic abuse.  It is a chance to experience an alternative healing session through one of the modalities that are available such as Reiki, Polarity and Energy Healing to name a few.  Or if you prefer a spiritual reading, you can choose a reading with a physic, tarot card reader or soul card reader.

Marian Court College, located directly on the Atlantic Ocean in picturesque Swampscott will serve as the perfect venue for this special event.  This event is limited to 100 guests, so please make your donations ASAP (but no later than April 1st).  For more information or to reserve your ticket(s), please contact afternoontea428@gmail.com

In addition, Brawley is hoping that this event will continue to be a kick off for the Annual HAWC WALK/RUN, which will take place on May 5th 2013 at the Salem Commons.  Please visit the website at www.hawcdv.org to get more information.

3) Swampscott Scholars:

Nicolette Gateman, high honors, was named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hampshire for the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year.

4) Weather Watch:

A chance of sprinkles after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 39. West wind around 14 mph.
