As we stride into mid-February this weekend there is plenty to do in Swampscott.
The weather will be chilly, so, fortunately, we have several indoor events to recommend. They include a pancake breakfast, exciting music and a huge physical challenge.
Eat: On Saturday morning at 9 at Swampscott High the Swampscott track and cross country programs will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast to benefit those programs. The cost is $5.
Listen: On Sunday at 3 pm music Director Robert Lehmann conducts the North Shore Philharmonic Orchestra in its annual Winter Concert at the Swampscott High School Auditorium, 200 Essex Street.
See: Shapeshifters: Transformations in Native American Art at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. East India Square, 161 Essex Street, 978-745-9500, 866-745-1876. Open 10 am to 5 pm, Tues through Sunday.
Walk: Any time at King's, Fisherman's or Phillips Beaches.
Watch: At 11:15 am Sunday Ron Cooper will attempt to set two Guinness world records at the Lynch Van Otterloo YMCA in Marblehead.
