5 Things Including the Winter Parking Ban
If you're a resident of Swampscott and do not have adequate off-street parking, you may pick up a parking waiver application at the Swampscott Police Station at 86 Burrill Street.
1) Newsbit of the Day: The Swampscott Police Department announces: "The town of Swampscott has a winter parking policy that states that all vehicles must be off the street from the hours 12 am - 6 am from the 30th of November through the 1st of April. If you're a resident of Swampscott and do not have adequate off-street parking, you may pick up a parking waiver application at the Swampscott Police Station at 86 Burrill Street. You will be notified upon approval.
A $30 non-refundable application fee is required in order to process each request for a parking waiver. This fee must be paid in check or money order only payable to the "Town of Swampscott" prior to review of the application. CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
All vehicles at the residence must be registered to that address. If there are two off-street parking spaces, but there are three vehicles at the residence, all three must be registered to that address in order to qualify for the one waiver permit needed for on street parking. Commercial and lease vehicles must have the operator/lesser residing at that address.
All vehicles, WITH or WITHOUT a parking waiver, MUST get off the street when it snows or when there is forecasted snowfall.
Any vehicle left on the street during a snow storm (whether a declared snow emergency or not) will be subject to a fine for impeding Snow Removal, plus the vehicle may be subject to tow at an additional cost to the registered owner.
Violations (such as impeding snow removal) WILL result in a review and possible REVOCATION OF THE PARKING WAIVER."
