The plants manager for the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University will be the guest speaker Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.

 

1) Newsbit of the Day: The plants manager for the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, Brian Leib, will be the guest speaker Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Swampscott Senior Center, located behind the high school at 200 Essex St. The meeting is a function of the North Shore Orchid Society. Refreshments will be served. There is a $5 charge for nonmembers. 

2) Swampscott Scholars: 2012 Swampscott High graduates Kristen Connor, Abigail Feldman and Phillip Smith received the Thomas J. McManus Memorial Scholarships.
