Due to Hurricane Sandy and the closing of Swampscott High School, tonight’s Little League Annual Meeting & Election is postponed until next Monday, November 5, 2012 at 7pm (Swampscott High School).

There are several open Board seats. If any parent, coach, or volunteer is interested in running for the Board, please contact our election officer -- Bob Biletch (Bob.biletch@verizon.net) -- so he can include your name on the ballot. If you unable to run for the Board, we still need participation at this meeting to elect the 2013 Board, share ideas, and help plan for the upcoming year.

Swampscott Little League Notice of Annual Meeting & Elections

Swampscott Little League will hold its annual meeting and election of officers for the 2013 season on Monday, November 5, at 7:00 p.m. at Swampscott High School. 

The meeting is open to parents, coaches, volunteers, and anyone with a vested interest in the operation of Swampscott Little League (i.e. "Regular Members").  Any volunteer, coach or parent is by constitutional definition a Member of Swampscott Little League and entitled to attend and vote at the Annual Meeting. 

The league which has been in operation since 1954, serves boys and girls (ages 5 and up) living in Swampscott, MA. It takes an army of volunteers to ensure the league's success and we absolutely need your help. So, please consider getting involved. 

We will have an open election for 25 Board of Director seats (one-year term). All "Regular Members" in good standing are eligible to serve on the Board and are eligible to vote.

The Board of Director's meet monthly from September to June to discuss league operations, finances, volunteer needs, and also take on various assignments and roles, as needed. In addition to the Board of Director positions we are seeking volunteers for several other positions and committees. Sign-up sheets will be available at the Annual Meeting. 

Those Members (in good standing) who have served one year on the Board of Directors are eligible to serve on the Executive Board. The open Executive Board positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Player Agent, Safety Officer, and Information Officer. The Board of Directors will elect the Executive Board after the Annual Meeting. The term is one year.
