11th Annual Fundraiser for HAWC at the United Martial Arts Center

The United Martial Arts Center, located in Vinnin Square Plaza, is sponsoring their 11th Annual Fundraiser to benefit HAWC – Healing Abuse Working for Change, a non-profit organization in Salem, MA.  

 

The fundraiser includes many events through March and April that will benefit the entire family.  Self Defense classes will be offered through March and April on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00pm. These classes are open to the community and no prior experience is needed; a $10 donation is suggested. 

 

A Women’s Self Defense Class will be offered on Wednesday April 4th at 6:30pm.  Taught by women instructors, this class will focus on awareness, confidence and effective self defense techniques. A donation of $20 is suggested.   

 

A Stranger Danger Seminar will be offered on Saturday April 28th at 11am. Oriented to children four years and older, this seminar will teach children to be aware of their surroundings and how to seek help if needed. A donation of $10 per child is suggested.

 

In May, United Martial Arts Center will host an open house to conclude the fundraiser.  Representatives from HAWC will attend to discuss HAWC programs. The event will include a children’s kick-a-thon and martial arts demonstrations. Refreshments will be served. 

 

Gift certificates are also available for donations to HAWC.  All attendees will also receive a gift certificate for one week of martial arts adult and children’s classes for the entire family.
